fall break highlights

This past week was Scott's fall break and his parents rented a house at Smith Mountain Lake, which is about 1:10 from Blacksburg. I spent the weekend there and we had a great time!

We got a pumpkin, which has yet to be carved. Still searching for the ideal pattern...

On a rainy, non-ideal lake day we took a mini road trip and went and saw the National D-Day memorial in Bedford, drove through the Peaks of Otter on the Parkway, saw the entrance to Natural Bridge, had dinner in downtown Roanoke and then headed back to the lake.

This is the view from the lake house... pretty sweet!

They had a dock and we (I) went swimming just about everyday, if not a couple times a day. one day we rented a pontoon boat and toured around the lake, swimming and fishing. Scott and I found a sunfish without the sail and paddled that around (probably the highlight of the trip).

I just finished my last test before finals start next week. But! After that I have a week off. Which I'm greatly looking forward too.

twitter!

So I said if I got a blackberry I would get twitter. Scott got a new blackberry so he gave me his old one... and now you can follow me at www.twitter.com/kristihenne

I will keep blogging when time allows. But I will be more consistent on twitter. Promise!

the source of all our problems...

"If people didn't eat feces you wouldn't be taking this course" - Dr. Palmeri on microbiology

That basically sums up my day. I rode after being in class from 7:30-3, which was refreshing, and I studied for 3 hours.

I think twitter might be more conducive to medical school life... so I might start thinking about getting one. I'll let you know.

BE weekend

I spend the weekend in Banner Elk; went hiking on the parkway on Friday, riding Saturday, and swimming today.

We saw a full rainbow while hiking! Very cool.

I also got a waterproof hard cast on Friday, which makes my life SOOOO much better.

I also got to hang out with Jo, Chloe, Rebecca, Sean, Megan, and Mike... which was great! Nice to see everyone. Well back to biochemistry...
